When you stay with us, we want to purchase food for your meals from local providers. When you trek, we want to hire local guides for a reasonable wage. When you want to relax, we source your amenities from local villagers.

We hire local guides, buy local food, source local workers for our projects, and want to build our community sustainably with help from you.

Campus & Facilities

Kalimpong Village Retreat, presents a mixed selection of open & interactive community space, private places. There is no television in our place. we have complimentary internet (WiFi) access, however, due to the remote location of the lodge, the wireless connection can be slow and inconsistent.

 

There an in-house library filled with interesting reads, indoor games, and Bonfire evening, here you can take a break from busy city life, soak in the silence and enjoy the earthy pleasures of rustic farm life.

Things to Know Before You Book

With climate change and sustainability top of our mind, there is no better time to consider seriously about leading a sustainable lifestyle and we expect our guests to do their part.

  • Please note, its NOT a regular Hotel or Resort. We offer a rustic Organic Farmstay experience, with all modern-day comforts, but NOT luxury.

  • Vehicles CANNOT come directly to our Farmstay, guests have to walk 150 meters on an uneven path to reach the property. 

  • In our effort not to disturb the inhabiting bird and insect life at our farm, we have minimum use of outdoor lighting and encourage guests to carry torch light while walking around at night.

  • We are trying hard to achieve a Zero Waste policy, hence guests are requested to avoid bringing in non-recyclable items at the Farm, or carry it back with them.   

  • There is NO room service. All meals are served in the common dining area or in our garden area.

  • There is NO T.V. in the room, we encourage guests to interact with each other, read a book, and enjoy nature.

  • We do not have inverter or generator, as power back up. In this remote region, power cuts are normal.

  • All our rooms are strictly NON SMOKING, you can use the designated public and open areas if you want to smoke.

  • We do NOT sell Beer & Alcoholic drinks. Although guests can bring their own if they wish. 

  • Keep Your carbon Footprint to a Minimum.
